• Keep keys in your pocket so that if your purse is stolen the thief won't have your keys and address.
• Always stick to well-lit areas.
• Don't take short cuts and avoid wooded areas.
• Walk facing traffic so a car can't pull up behind you.
• Don't hitch hike or take rides from strangers.
• When taking a taxi, ask the driver to wait until you are safely inside before driving a away.
• When riding in a taxi, always sit in the back seat.
• If you feel uneasy ask to be let out in a well-lit area with plenty of people.
• Try to stay away from isolated bus stops.
• If the bus is empty, try to sit near the driver.
